Invisalign Invisible Braces

The clear alternative to Braces

Many patients in Jackson, Madison, and the surrounding area come into Center for Contemporary Dentistry to get complete Smile Makeovers. Madison cosmetic dentist, Lance Dillon, includes an alternative to metal braces in his office. This alternative is a technologically advanced procedure called Invisalign® that produces clear plastic aligners to reposition teeth so you can keep an active lifestyle. For a number of adult and older teen patients, Invisalign® may be the first step in the makeover process.

Whether you have crooked, uneven, protruding teeth or if you have spaces you would like closed, Invisalign can help you gradually reposition your teeth to facilitate better hygiene and to get that radiant smile you have always wanted.

In many cases adult teeth have relapsed and have become crooked or crowded years after they had their metal braces in their teens.

If you’ve been prolonging the orthodontic process of getting your teeth straightened because you don’t have two years to spend in metal brackets and wires Invisalign’s custom made clear aligner system will gradually reposition your teeth with no uncomfortable hardware.

Some of the other benefits include:

  •             Comfort, invisible, removable
  •             No dietary restrictions
  •             Better oral hygiene (can remove aligners and brush/floss)
  •             Fewer visits to the office

What to Expect:

At the initial appointment for Invisalign® the dentist will take impressions of the teeth, take photos and x-rays. Aligners are then fabricated that will incrementally make changes to the teeth. Each set of aligners are worn for approximately two weeks before advancing to the next aligner. Most cases are complete between 10-18 months.

While Invisalign® provides a great alternative to metal braces, they may not be for every patient or condition. Schedule a free consultation with Dr. Dillon to see if you are a candidate for Invisalign®.

I was quite nervous, but Dr. Poole made me feel very comfortable.  He offered me nitrous oxide, or “‘happy gas,” which I was nervous about at first.  … Continue reading Marie Ferderer
